Sound insulation comfort is one of the clearest indicators of the quality of a building. In the conditions of increasing urbanization, mixed functions and ever higher requirements for the residential and working environment, the need for reliable solutions against impact and airborne noise becomes critical. This is where DAMTEC Multi establishes itself as an unparalleled rubber membrane that combines sound insulation, vibration protection and structural stability in a high-tech German engineering solution developed by KRAIBURG Relastec.

High-density microcellular single-tone matrix – the heart of the system

DAMTEC Multi is built from a matrix of high-density microcellular structure, based on specially formulated recycled rubber elastomers. This heterogeneous structure combines high mass and controlled elasticity, which allows for effective vibration damping and a significant reduction of both impact and airborne noise in a wide frequency spectrum.

Unlike conventional insulation materials, the microcellular matrix of DAMTEC Multi retains its mechanical and acoustic characteristics over time, even under constant and intense loads. This guarantees long-term efficiency and stable results throughout the life cycle of the building.

The most effective solution for impact and airborne noise

Due to its high density (over 1020 kg/m³), controlled dynamic stiffness (s’) and proven resistance to point loads of over 5000 kPa, DAMTEC Multi functions as a highly effective mass-spring element. When installed correctly, the material acoustically decouples building elements and provides one of the highest levels of protection against impact and airborne noise achievable with modern floor and wall systems.

This combination of characteristics makes DAMTEC Multi the preferred choice for sites with high acoustic requirements – residential complexes, hotels, office buildings, shopping malls and public spaces.

Under cement screed – a base for floating floors without compromise

As an element of floating floor systems, DAMTEC Multi is laid under cement screed and provides effective acoustic decoupling between the screed and the supporting reinforced concrete slab. By eliminating hard contacts, the membrane limits the structural transmission of vibrations and achieves a significant reduction in impact noise – Ln,w to 38.5 dB, a value that positions the system in the premium class (below 46 dB).
The specific engineering advantage of DAMTEC Multi is its high density, thanks to which the material works bidirectionally in the floor system – a characteristic that distinguishes it from standard elastic underlays.

From top to bottom, the membrane effectively reduces impact noise generated by walking, heels, moving furniture and dropping objects, interrupting the direct transmission of energy to the supporting structure.

From the bottom up, the high mass of the material contributes to limiting airborne noise by acting as an additional mass-elastic layer against noises such as loud music, speech, shouting and other acoustic disturbances from lower levels.

This combined mass-elastic effect is achieved at an extremely small structural thickness – 2 and 3 mm, which allows integration into floor systems with limited heights without compromising acoustic performance.

Thanks to its high mechanical resistance and stability under load, the material is fully applicable both in residential and in public and commercial buildings with intensive use.

Over cement screed – additional acoustic protection before the final floor

DAMTEC Multi is also used over already applied cement screed, immediately before the final floor finish. In this configuration, the membrane serves as an additional vibration and noise-absorbing layer, which improves walking comfort and reduces residual noise transmitted to the rooms below.

This solution is particularly valuable in renovations where effective acoustic optimization is sought without significant structural changes.

Under walls – elastic separation and protection against cracking

Laid under the wall, DAMTEC Multi acts as an elastic separator and thermal bridge. The membrane absorbs deformations caused by thermal expansion, contraction and settlement, thus preventing cracking of the walls and finishing layers during displacements and structural movements of the building.

This application contributes not only to acoustic comfort, but also to long-term structural reliability.

Between double walls – effective separation of rooms

DAMTEC Multi is extremely effective when used between double walls. In this configuration, the membrane interrupts the direct path of sound vibrations, significantly improving the airborne sound insulation between adjacent rooms. This solution is widely applicable in residential buildings, hotels, hospitals and office spaces, where acoustic independence is of key importance.

In lightweight partition walls and pre-wall systems

In lightweight partition wall systems and pre-wall structures, DAMTEC Multi is used as an elastic intermediate layer between the metal substructure and the adjacent building elements. The membrane reduces vibration transmission, increases airborne sound insulation and improves the overall acoustic behavior of the system without increasing its thickness or complexity.

Engineered German solution without analogues

The combination of an analogue-free rubber membrane, a high-density microcellular structure and an extremely wide range of applications positions DAMTEC Multi as a reference engineering solution for protection against impact and airborne noise in modern construction.

DAMTEC Multi is not just an insulation product. It is a tool for designing silence, stability and long-term comfort.

Silence is not added.
It is designed.
